Great bathroom facilities, very clean and fresh, good water pressure was awesome after multi-day hikes and huts. Quality dinnerware, drinkware, cutlery, kitchen utensils. Comfortable beds, spacious rooms. Short walking distance to restaurants, lakefront, and Tracknet bus transfers pick-up location. We had all we need.

The Aaran Motel was a terrific place to stay before heading to Milford Sound. Our room was warm, comfortable, had amenities like a tea kettle, plates, forks, and spoons. The staff person upon check-in was very nice and hospitable… made us feel so welcome!! The location was close to town within walking distance. The property is well kept and in a nice area. Yes, we would return!

Very quiet location, friendly and helpful staff, equipped with everything needed. We spent three nights there and can only recommend the motel. Nothing, everything was great.

Very clean, rooms serviced everyday, comfortable and so many amenities in the room fitted with a bar fridge, counter top, plates, cups, etc. Rooms are spacious fitted out with all necessities, staff are kind and accommodating, walking distance from town, quite clean and safe area.

Greeted by a very friendly host who showed me to the room. The motel room, two bedroom had been recently renovated and was well presented. The motel staff were very fastidious at cleaning having observed them from afar cleaning some motel rooms. All of the staff were helpful and suggested a great travel route to take for our onward ventures. Onsite laundry was handy and took advantage of it during a rainy day. Heating within the room was excellent and the unit which was situated in the lounge space easily maintained a comfortable temperature through the two bedrooms.

Everything was above expectations from the time we arrived at the beautifully presented unit that was very clean with plenty of space, and comfortable beds. We have been doing our Winter Photography Trips for just 30 years and this stay surpasses all other stays with excellent hosts Mel & Mark who helped us with where to go and what the conditions were like on Milford Road which was very much appreciated being Southlanders what else would you expect? Each day arriving back the unit was fully serviced and spotless – a very memorable stay. 10/10

Arran Motel is run by a friendly couple who look after their guests. It is a small, clean motel with functional facilities such as heating, a microwave, a fridge, cutlery and utensils. We were accommodate in a room with vacant neighbours during our stay, which made it pleasant. There is easy access to parking, and it is close to the town centre. Excellent value!

The motel is located in an area which includes several similar properties which are located about one kilometre from the small town centre. It is very close to the lake with access via a footpath alongside a neighbouring motel. My studio room was an adequate size and had microwave and tea/coffee making facilities. Unusually, there were no washing up facilities but there was a specific instruction to leave that task for the management to deal with. This was a good location to serve as a base for a day trip to Milford Sound. Highly recommended.
